Project Description
The Mid Minnesota TU Chapter will be working on 2,000 feet of brush cutting and bundling on Little Rock Creek near St. Cloud, Minnesota. This is on land that the MNDNR has a permanent conservation easement in place. TU will work with the MNDNR Fisheries and USFWS to remove scrub cedar trees from USFWS lands to use as brush mat material. Brush cutting and bundling on 2,000 feet of this St. Cloud area stream. Includes removal of brush to permit growth of native prairie grasses, reduce erosion, narrow and deepen the stream channel, and lower water temperatures to benefit brook trout and other fish and micro-invertebrates.
