Rain Day Reschedule for Wed. May 22nd
Brush Removal Workdays- Due to a rainy forecast Tuesday May 21st we are rescheduling the last workday at Little Pickwick for Wednesday 22nd evening 3:00 PM-5:30 PM. We will celebrate the success of many workdays following the completion of Wednesday’s work.
Description: Over the last 2.5 years, WinCres Chapter of TU, MNTU, and DNR have been working with landowners on Little Pickwick Creek to remove invasive trees and brush adjacent to the stream, where WinCres did several Habitat Improvement projects in the 1980’s. Along the way, we have also helped remove approximately ¾ mile of fallen barbed wire fence that is no longer being used.
We thank the many volunteers who have contributed to this work and hope to recruit folks for two final workdays, so we can reclaim the area to native grasses and flowering forbs.
