Project Details

Location: Hubbard County, MN

Funding: Lessard-Sams 2010

Contact:  Headwaters Chapter

Goals: Narrow and deepen the channel, provide fish cover and trap sediments.

Methods: Placement of large trees in the stream channel and withdrawal of entire base flow held by farmer by providing a replacement irrigation source via well-pump upgrade and piping.

Implementation: Construction was completed in 2011.

Project Contributors: Trout Unlimited, Ecological Water Resources, Forestry and Fisheries divisions of the MNDNR, as well as local landowners.
