Celebrate Earth Day with your ❤️🗣️👐! Use your heart, voice and hands to protect the earth!

Today we celebrate Earth Day. Of course, for those of us who prefer to spend our time streamside with a fly rod in hand, we like to think of every day as Earth Day!

The first Earth Day, held on April 22, 1970 attracted an estimated 20 million participants across the United States. This event sparked a significant increase in public concern about environmental degradation and pollution. It led to the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of landmark environmental legislation like the Clean Water Act which has been critical to protecting trout streams.

Here are a few ways that you can join us in honoring Earth Day today and in the month ahead!

1. TAKE CARE OF THE EARTH WITH YOUR HEART
Join us at the Capitol TODAY at 1:30 to rally with our community of friends and partners!
More information here.

2. TAKE CARE OF THE EARTH WITH YOUR VOICE
Contact your Senator and tell them to OPPOSE proposed changes to Public Waters statute passed last year.
More information here.

3. TAKE CARE OF THE EARTH WITH YOUR HANDS
Join MNTU members for an upcoming volunteer opportunity.
Check out our events calendar for opportunities and/or sign up to receive our volunteer alerts.

Established in 1959 with thousands of members and 5 chapters across the state, Minnesota Trout Unlimited advocates for policies that will build and sustain Minnesota’s coldwater fisheries and watersheds, restores instream and riparian habitat (100+ miles since 2009), and educates youth through our Trout in the Classroom program.
